Works on my 3gs, GF's 3g, and all our ipods of various generations, and cable works as a sync cable on my computer also. USB charger works for all other USB charging devices I have tried on it so far as well. I do get a buzz when playing music while plugged in to RCA's and charging, but I have to fix this in my ground loop on my vehicle.
What's nice is that you can use the cable as a spare USB wire in case you lose the one that came with your iphone.
Quality control is hit or miss. Overheating.
I bought two, one for myself and one for my wife. Both initially worked well.
Was thrilled with this product initially. Other times, it would feel hot to the touch and would not charge my iPhone.
However, after less than a year, mine has stopped working consistently. Sometimes it would charge my iPhone.
Would not buy again. While mine stopped working, my wife's still works fine.
A couple months later I bought another one for my wife's car, however, after a few days it stopped working. This is a simple device that is designed to do only one thing - charge an iPhone. Despite some negative reviews I bought one because it was a reasonable price (for an apple accessory) and it worked. Being the curious type I cracked open the case and found the cause of the problem - a loose wire. A quick resolder and voila.better than new.So if you think you don't have the skills (or at least a friend to) fix it I would rate this ONE STARIf you are handy, it's probably worth the price and 5 minute repair so I would rate this FIVE STARSOn average.THREE STARS
This iPhone car charger looks great, is flexible (the cable can detach and has a USB plug), and is very durable.Its car charger adapter has a blue charging light indicator that's bright enough to see while not being annoying (it's also more durable than my cheap Garmin car charger plug). Its USB cable is longer than the USB cable that comes with the iPhone, so it makes a great extra iPhone USB cable for work.I've been using this for 5 months now with my iPhone 3G and I can't think of anything negative about this product, which is rare if you look at my reviews for other products (even the ones I like).
